The lachrymal duct is one of two channels that secretes the sterile tear fluid that constantly bathes the front of the |eye| and its thin protective covering membrane, the conjunctiva. Although tear flow is continual, only about 1/2 to 2/3 of a gram of fluid is produced per day. The lachrymal duct is located in the inner corner of the lower |eye| lid.
